How to install an indoor swim spa?

Swim spas are easy-to-install sports equipment. Unlike pools, they don’t require major construction. Whether you choose a freestanding or semi-inground model, it must be placed on reinforced concrete of about 15 cm thick.

Do you need a permit to Install a swim spa?

No special permit is required for indoor swim spa installations, but you must comply with safety regulations. The installation area should be well-ventilated. A permit is required only if the installation involves creating a new surface or altering the building’s exterior.

You don’t need any formalities to install an above-ground outdoor swim spa, regardless of its size. No permit is needed if:

- the installation lasts less than 3 months,

- and the surface area is under 10 m².

A permit is required in these outdoor cases:

- surface area between 10 and 19.99 m² with a height over 1 meter

- semi-inground or inground installation,

- installed less than 3 meters from the property boundary,

- inability to transport or disassemble the unit.

For larger swim spas, a building permit is required.
